Saturday’s Snapshots of the Week

Yesterday, Cece and I met our buddies at Blair Woodlands while Dada waited for the cable/internet technician to show up (some vacation day!). Even though Blair Woodlands is just minutes from our house, we hadn’t yet checked this spot out. We were excited to make the short walk through the woods and spend some time playing on the pebbly banks of the Pemigewassat River.

Cece was dressed adorably – in my unbiased opinion – for the start of our walk, but we left the woods looking like this…

Someone say the clichè "We've all been there." so I don't feel too terribly about leaving with the woods with a naked baby.

When we got to the river, our toddler immediately started throwing pebbles in. I brought Cece’s bathing suit but didn’t really intend on having to use it. I took off her shoes and rolled up her pants and thought we’d just be wading in. Seconds later, my little lady took a seat right in the river. No big deal- I’ll just lay her pants on a rock to dry and put her suit on.

After swimming, and everyone getting much more wet than we originally intended, we enjoyed a snack and got ready to leave. Cece’s pants were still pretty wet, so I packed them in the backpack and thought I’d have her walk out wearing only her t-shirt, a diaper, and her combo sneaker/sandals.

That was the plan until she made a run for it; into the river she went, wearing her shirt, shoes, and diaper. She even fell down because she was distracted by mama chasing her. Soaked up to her neck.

No shirt. No shoes. No problem.

Another great memory to add to the books. Even if I wasn’t able to fulfill Dada’s request to stop at the store on the way home…
